The manager of MacDan Logistics, a subsidiary of the MacDan Group of Companies, Shaolin Agbesi Agbor, has been arraigned before court for allegedly stealing GH¢40,900 belonging to the company.
The accused person was put before a court, presided over by Mrs. Ruby Naa Quayson and charged with stealing.
He has denied any wrongdoing.
Agbor has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢50,000 with two sureties while the case has been adjourned to August 12, 2015.
The facts of the case, as presented by the prosecuting officer ASP M Asampana, are that the complainant is Alberta Ferguson, the Human Resource Manager of MacDan Group of Companies while the accused person is the manager of MacDan Logistics.
He said in March 2015, the accused person was chosen to represent the company, which had entered into a contract with Mid Night Sun Group of Companies in Togo worth GH¢115,900.
According to the prosecutor, the accused person received the total amount on behalf of the company and paid only GH¢75,000 into the company’s account and kept the rest.
Furthermore, he said during an internal auditing undertaken by MacDan Group of Companies, they detected the anomaly and the accused was arrested.
He admitted collecting the money from Mid Night Sun Company.
He said he paid only GH¢75,000 into the company’s account but offered no tangible reason for keeping the remaining GH¢4,900.
The police officer said he was put before court after police investigations.
