The Ghana Football Association has dismissed reports it was somehow engaged in negotiations with German Klaus Toppmoller to superintend the Black Stars technical team.
Ibrahim Saani Dara, who speaks for the FA, outrightly dismissed the claim, saying that there can be no truth whatsoever in that claim.
“Absolutely not! We are going to Egypt with Kwasi Appiah and to the World Cup with him. It is not true whatsoever,” he told Graphic Online, and added that the team was focused on its preparation for Egypt and would do without the needless distractions.
Footy Ghana on Tuesday reported that third parties were doing the bidding on behalf of FA officials, quoting “unimpeachable sources.”
“ Footy-ghana.com understands that should the move happen, the 62-year-old Toppmoller will take all technical decisions regarding the team, leaving current Black Stars head coach Kwasi Appiah as a deputy in effect”, the website reported.
