The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has agreed to appear before the National Media Commission (NMC) over Daily Graphic’s publication over purported misappropriation of funds during the 2012 campaign.
The story indicted the 2012 presidential candidate, Dr. Abu Sakara and the party’s chair person, Samia Nkrumah for misappropriating about GHC700,000.
The news paper claims the two subsequently accused it of taking bribe to misrepresent the facts hence their decision to drag them to the NMC.
But Ms Nkrumah has denied any such accusations against the paper adding that the latest development will enable the party to make clarifications on the newspaper report.
“I am very happy with any opportunity to clarify the CPP’s stance…I stand by what I said that the write-up of the Graphic has misrepresented the fact as stated in the committee’s report. We are fully behind the committee.”
According to her, the grievance of the CPP has to do with “the opening paragraph of the Graphic which said that we have been indicted by the report of the committee. We have not been indicted.”
