Andre Dede Ayew has been dropped from the Black Stars 21-man squad to face Cape Verde in an international friendly game on November 13th.
Ayew is not the only high profile player to be omitted for the game as other first team players including goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey, John Boye and Kwadwo Asamoah failed to make the squad for the game.
It will be recalled that the Olympic Marseille midfielder was forced to apologise for his misconduct after he was substituted in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi last month.
But his omission along with others is seen as a move to give fringe players the chance to break into the team ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Head coach Kwesi Appiah has also called up some fresh faces for the game including the South African based duo of Awal Mohammed and Joseph Duncan of Inter Milan.
Defensive utility player Nana Kwesi Asare of Utrecht FC has been recalled to the team as well as midfielder Derrick Boateng and his FC Dnipro teammate Samuel Inkoom.
The game will be played at the University of Lisbon Sports Stadium in the Portuguese capital Lisbon on Tuesday, 13th November.
