The Honourable Member of Parliament for Assin North, Mr Kennedy Agyapong, has been granted bail by a Human Rights court with two sureties
in the sum of GH¢ 200,000.
Mr Agyapong was released on health grounds, after it emerged that he had high blood pressure following his 3-day detention by the BNI.
The fact that Mr Agyapong is an MP was also taken into consideration.
The treason charge, however, still holds against him.
Mr Agyapong’s release comes as a relief to members of the New Patriotic Party, who have argued that BNI and CID should have been detained for long like a criminal.
