Accra – Information reaching GhanaReporters indicates that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP)Mr Kennedy Agyapong is facing a possible charge of treason for reportedly inciting supporters of the party to foment trouble at the Odododiodio constituency.
At the time of filing this report Mr Agyapong was being held by the CID.Kennedy Agyapong
The NPP die hard politician reportedly threatened to organise supporters of the main opposition party to defend themselves because the law enforcement agents had failed to protect them.One of his lawyers, Mr Andy Appiah-Kubi, said efforts were frantically being made to secure bail for the Assin North MP, over comments he made on an Accra-based radio station,Oman FM last week.
Another counsel, Mr Atta Akyea, early on confirmed to Citi News that the lawmaker had been invited to the CID headquarters in Accra upon the invitation of the CID Director.
